As a single woman I wanted a car that would have capacity for storage and look more "mature and stylish" than what I was driving before which was an old Volvo. I love the look of the caliber. I once confused it with a Lexus in a parking lot. I think that is funny but says alot about the sleek styling. In the Caliber the seat feels high so I feel like I'm riding above the windshield when driving, but the car itself is not too large like a mini-van or SUV. I have had to get used to using a very light touch on the petals because it only takes a little gas to rev it up.
I am very happy with the Dodge Caliber. My only regret is lack of sufficient leg room for my right leg which presses hard against the radio/gear shift mechanism. Decent headroom for those over 6' tall. Good gas mileage, but unfortunately the tank is not as big as I had hoped--it has about 11 gallon capacity, so the mileage savings are hard to see when you're filling up twice as often as used to. It is a very pretty vehicle with nice features.
Within days after I bought my Caliber, I drove from Houston, TX to Berwick, ME. The car ran like a dream and was extremely comfortable for this journey. It got 29 miles per gallon and never gave me any problems on that trip. It's easy to park and I feel real comfortable driving this car. I've been moving my personal belongings out of storage and can't believe how much stuff I can fit in this car! It warms up quickly and drives really well on snow covered roads.
