After driving a 2006 Sonata V6 the CTV trasmission in the Caliber is hard to get used to. But once the CTV is engaged it has plenty of power we like the option of the manual shift drive. Dodge interiors could still use inprovment. But we like the dash and display. The back rear hatch (spar tire cover) could use some redesign it does not have a latch of any kind and the plastic is very thin an squeaky. Over all we love the looks of the car and the handling and maitanence is very easy.
The car is decent sized if you are single and have no kids. However, it is not a grocery-getter, as it has very little room in the hatchback. It is a very noisy car, like they forgot to insulate it from road noise. The tires are cheap. It didn't come with daytime running lights or an alarm. The fuel tank is very small, and while It gets decent gas mileage, you have to refill the tank more often than I would like. It is simply functional to get you from point A to point N. Beyond daily driving, I don't recommend this car. I'm just disappointed. I won't buy another one.
LOVE LOVE LOVE The Car!!!
2012 Dodge CaliberSurgietech - Las Vegas, NV07/28/2012
I have always been an SUV gal. However I recently went through a divorce and found that I needed a car better in gas milage and lower car payment.
I did not even plan on looking at this car, but I walked past it fell in love and this was the only car I did a test drive on.
It handles great, super comfortable for long car rides. I often travel to California for work and I uses to spend around $320 -$480 for gas alone for my SUV and this last trip I spent $120 for the roundtrip. I can not say enough how awesome it is to fill up and only spend an average of $35.
I have three children and two are in booster seats and no one is fighting in the back seat. My oldest daughter is very tall and she can sit comfortably behind me. It fits five adults comfortably. I love all the storage in the trunk area. Fits my luggage for travel, the dog, groceries, or whatever else I may be lugging around.
I have fell in love with driving again!!!
