When I heard this car was coming out I did my research. I loved the way it looked and from what I was reading it sounded like the perfect car. March 2006 came and the car hit the dealerships I wanted the R/T,which was hard to come by. We test drove a base modle because that is all they had, ut they said the R/T would have more power. So they said they could get us ours from Virgina. Come to find out ours was a Model one, the one they used in adds and in car shows. It was the classic Dodge red with the chrome trim and leather seats, sunroof, the whole 9 yards. This car has been NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!!! Less than 50,000 miles and we had to get a new transmition (warranty only until 36,000 miles)! The dealership wanted me to pay $5000 for that and then tried to reasure me that it would be warranted for 60,000 miles yet the first one didn't last 50,000. We went to Dodge about it and they ended up having us to only pay labor but that was a whopping $1200. The check engine light would come on all the time....all over a gas tank sensor which we had to pay $200 for them to tell us that and another $100 for a software update to fix it. Oh and recently @ 60,000 miles we had even more problems and had to get $400 of work done. The CVT transmition SUCKS. There is always a delay from when you punch the gas to when it goes. When going slow, between 2-10mph, the car is very jerky. On top of all of that the value has plummited more than any other car I have owned. I understand that you will always be upside down when you buy a new car, but this is the worst I have every seen. We take very good care of our cars and have them mantianced as we should. I can't believe how much problems this car has given me! Other than this car looking great I would advised to NOT buy it!!!
2007 Dodge CaliberMoni - North Carolina10/04/2010
I purchased my 2007 Dodge Caliber this year in July. After two months my car is in the shop with engine problems! The motor is shaking and it sounds like diesel truck. So as for me I got sold a bad model.
On the flip side, I absolutley love my car, it is spacious, great on gas mileage, and stylish, but it is truly a disappointment.
I love my Caliber SXT

This car is everything I wanted it to be. It is roomy, extremely comfortable to drive and ride, sporty, and all around a great deal for the money.
