I traded in a Mustang GT to buy this car..........Mostly for economical reasons. I purchased it because it is an American made car, what ever that means anymore, and I wanted an econobox. I looked at all the Japanese models and really didn't like the looks of any of them. I have a black one and the little car is sharp for sure. The CVT technology takes some time to get used to, but if you have ever ridden a snowmobile, then you'll see what I mean. The best mileage I can get is almost 28 MPG. I have the 2.0L and would not buy the smaller engine because of the lack of power. The car could barely get out of it's own way. The car tracks great in the snow, and in the rain. There is louder road noise than I am used to, but the stereo makes that go away. I would not get the six CD changer because you lose the 1/4" male plug to use your IPOD. Great car, lots of space. Very comfy to drive, great ergonomics.
2010 Dodge Caliber
2010 Dodge CaliberShirley - Katy, TX01/11/2012
Loved this car until we had it 30 days and things began going wrong. This should not be the case with a vehicle this new. It's so bad that we might have to trade it in on something more reliable. We bought it for better gas mileage and reliability, but that isn't the case. Very disappointed in this vehicle.
Within days after I bought my Caliber, I drove from Houston, TX to Berwick, ME. The car ran like a dream and was extremely comfortable for this journey. It got 29 miles per gallon and never gave me any problems on that trip. It's easy to park and I feel real comfortable driving this car. I've been moving my personal belongings out of storage and can't believe how much stuff I can fit in this car! It warms up quickly and drives really well on snow covered roads.
