Transmission: Manual 6 Speed Color: Yellow Avg. Vehicle Review: 4.75 (46 reviews) "In short I love my SRT8 Challenger. Very predictable, handles great, and has good get up and go that'll put a smile on your face. The car is a performance based machine, but is refined and comfortable enough to travel in. Having traveled in an 07 Corvette that wears you down after 3-4hours of seat time, I've found this to be very comfortable for extended tours. (Not knocking the Vette, it's an awesome car that's just not good for Interstate travel in my opinion) The Challenger is on the heavy side but still feels nimble when you throw it around. That's the downside of all of the insulation/sound deadening and creature comfort materials in general, but well worth it in my opinion. I originally was going to buy a new RT, until I found the SRT. Surprisingly the leather seats are more comfortable than the RT by far in my opinion. Sound system is good and the Nav hasn't let me down yet. Getting into the back seat is typical for a two door car, however don't waste your time going through the drivers side as the seat doesn't have a quick release like the passenger side. You'll spend 10 mins dealing with the electric seat.... Never drove the RT to compare it to the SRT, but the SRT is supposed to have a better suspension. All I can really say is I've been impressed with it so far. Back to the performance side, the brakes are great and have done a good job of hauling it down to avoid Bambi and family on the back roads. The six speed does take some getting used to. If you aren't pushing it then it'll want to go from first to fourth which can be annoying. Otherwise no complaints. I'd complain about the clutch but it's my first hydraulic clutch vehicle and it just doesn't have the "feel" that my old vehicles have with the direct linkages. Works good, but different and takes some getting used to. The power is great but you'll be 10-15mph over the limit and not even notice it- until it's too late and the flashing lights are in your rear view mirrors. HID lights are great at night and provide plenty of light. Not sure how oncoming traffic feels but I'm not getting flashed a lot so must be ok... To the complaints- I don't care for the range of the tilt/telescopic wheel. It doesn't have enough travel to get it exactly where I want it, but you do get used to it and it's not bad, just not ideal. Fuel economy has been in the mid teens, but I've been doing everything wrong to get good economy. Drive it nice and cruise in 6th and it'll crank out good mileage. It does take premium fuel, but if you are worried about that or the economy as a factor then you probably shouldn't be looking at a performance vehicle.... I really don't like the cruise set up, or the steering wheel in general. I find my 08 Laramie Pickup with nav and the steering wheel controls to be a lot better for me. Again, to each his own. Another item is the exhaust will drone in the back seat. It's really noticeable when the car is in 6th gear and at lower RPM's going up a hill or lugging a little bit. In conclusion I've been extremely happy with my purchase and would not hesitate to buy the same car again. It isn't the fastest, but it is a great looking car that to me is a great compromise between an all out performance car and daily driver. Drive one and find out yourself. If nothing else you'll get lots of thumbs up from the many people who'll be checking it out!"

Transmission: Manual 6 Speed Color: Red Avg. Vehicle Review: 4.75 (46 reviews) "Earlier this year I decided my new personal "fun" car would be a Challenger SRT8. I chose it over the Ford Shelby GT500 and Chevy Camaro ZL1 for a number of reasons. -Looks: While the Camaro and Shelby are awesome cars, you can't really call their styling retro which you can with the Challenger. It really does bring back memories of the ones I saw as a kid. -Performance: The lack of a supercharger, plus it's larger size and weight means it's the least performing of the three, but how much HP and Torque do you really need to tool around the city and highways with? The Challenger SRT8 had more than enough. With base 470hp/470 torque. Several companies are also in the process of rolling out aftermarket supercharger kits for the 392 HEMI engine. It's not something I'd do now, but perhaps after the teenagers are out of the house, the car is out of warranty, etc.... -Size: The larger size sold me too. I can actually fit non-amputee adults in the back sears even though getting there is a little rough. That's not all that realistic with the Shelby or Camaro. The interior definitely feels more roomy to me than when I was sitting in the competitors models. The width of the car can make things a little tight if you have a house with multiple single garage doors instead of double ones, but I get it in and our without too much fear that I'm going to rip off a side view mirror. For many though the more important question is what DON'T I like about the car. I have a few little things that I'll mention. -Gas mileage: This should be a no brainer but this is NOT what most would consider a commuter car by any means. In the city, depending on how aggressively you drive it, you may get the rated 14mpg, or you may get less. It also uses premium fuel, not regular unleaded. So be prepared to pay a pretty penny at the pumps. I have one with a six speed manual transmission in it. If you get the automatic, it'll have fuel saver technology in it that will shut off four of the eight cylinders under certain conditions (mainly non stop and go highway driving). Other owners with automatic trannys have told me this does save them money on long trips, but not really for city driving. -Navigation system: The Challengers come optionally equipped with a Navigation system. It's based on Garmin software which is a respected navigation system manufacturer, but it's screen size is smaller than what you'll find on most other cars today, even in the Dodge line up like the Charger. What bugs me about it is that it shows roads but not street names most of the time. So if your looking for a side street, but haven't set it as a destination before hand, it's not always helpful finding it. -speakers: Challengers come with decent radio systems, depending on options integrated with the navigation system. I have no problem with that, but the Boston Acoustics sound system is totally underwhelming. I've messed with it plenty but no matter what it sounds like speakers in a car from the 70s. A little more retro than I was looking for guys! Dodge does offer an 18 speaker Harmon Kardon option, but for a LOT of money. This will be my first upgrade to the car, taking it to a shop and replacing the speakers with something that gives me better sound. -Attention: This can be an upside and downside of any nicely styled car. Mustangs are a dime a dozen on the roads, not so much so with Challengers. They get noticed. I've yet to drive by a cop that didn't have a radar gun pointed at me. I had a guy in a parking lot tell me that his wife would be out in a minute and I could probably pick her up with my car. People do roll down their windows at stoplights and try to ask me questions about the car. All in all, a few months after I bought it I'm not suffering buyers remorse at all. It's an awesome looking car that's comfortable and fun to drive. Not perfect, but I've yet to truly find "the perfect car.""

I have never actually "Loved " to drive a vehicle prior to owning an SRT8 Challenger. After years of full sized SUV's and Pickups it was a huge difference. The car is incredibly comfortable to sit in, drive, crank music and of course - drive fast. It's really exhilarating from 20-70mph. Total rocket sled. Also very fun from a stop in 1st gear with auto stick launch. The computer shifts at every red-line and barks the tires in 2nd gear even with traction control on. Complete disengagement of traction control is achieved by holding button down a 2nd time for >10 seconds for a second set of tones. Must be stopped or idling <5mph. Super fun ride."

Vehicle Review: 4.75 (46 reviews) "When I purchased this car I knew what I wanted, A beastly fast, animal of an automobile, that had aggressive muscle car performance and a bad attitude. Well, I got that but...I also got a easy going ,good natured , smooth, quiet riding ,24 mpg, stand out of the crowd, beauty with a BIG truck. The SRT8 Challenger does not drive like the awesome mustang cobra, it still has that adolescence bad boy feel but way more refined and comfortable. It took me about a week of driving to really fall for the pluses this car has to offer. Read all the many other review of the Challenger, I did. Most of the negatives I read about are there, but they are not necessarily negatives. The blind spot is the worst criticism I could come up with. But you learn to look twice and be careful. The soft suspension is actually a plus. This thing feels like a 70s Buick, heavy and solid. Compared to my lowered 2000 SS Camaro, cornering is a little smushy. But the Camaro rattles your teeth after driving it for awhile. The six speed is great and helps you get that good gas mileage, for a 425 hp beast. Looks of the car are fantastic and draws attention and respect. Fit and finish are excellent. Something I thought would never be possible with Dodge. The cabin is well thought out and comfortable. Especially the SRT8 heated seats with the suede inserts. My car has the navigation and premium stereo which rocks. In conclusion, I'd say I love this car and I think you will too. Take one for a spin and you'll be glad you did. All of my friends have given me excellent reviews and comments after riding and driving in this modern day muscle cruiser."

Great car, great way to buy a car
