Great turning radius (yes that is important), good ride, very comfortable, and looks so good! I also am getting great gas mileage (I have the 6 cylinder) @ 21-22 in the city and 27-29 on the hwy. It is also quiet inside.....much quieter than my wife's GMC Acadia.
I LOVE my car. We wanted a car with the optional 3rd row so we can get around with our kids and their friends. We also have a pop-up camper, and we just bought a boat at the end of the summer that requires extra towing capacity. I was concerned that this would be a "utility" vehicle and not a luxury vehicle - but I was totally wrong! The car rides incredibly smoothly, even when towing. The adaptive cruise control is also smooth, not jerky like most others I've been in. All the "extra" features are wonderful too - I live in Wisconsin so the heated steering wheel is lovely!
Great Less Expensive Alternative to Tahoe
2014 Dodge DurangoDick E. - Ringgold, GA02/28/2017
Comparing it to the Tahoe. Purchased used and was approximately $7000 less in price with 10000 less miles at time of purchase. Feels and is a bit smaller than the Tahoe and with the R/T package (Hemi) with AWD can tow up to 7200#. Fit and finish is comparable to Tahoe. Intermittent AWD is the biggest disappointment in the snows of the Pacific NW. Not a city driver with poor gas mileage. On the interstate getting between 21-23 MPG varies with wind direction and which set of tires I have on the car. These MPG numbers are when going approximately 0-5 MPG over the posted speed limit. The 8 speed transmission shifts like a dream but not a fan of the paddle shifters (May still not know how to keep them disengaged all the time.)
Vehicles with third-row seating have plenty of features for nearly every type of driver. For families that need a great family-friendly vehicle, SUVs, crossovers, and minivans with third-row seats give passengers roomy interiors and still have enough power to haul plenty of vacation equipment or moving supplies.
