The only complaint that I have is that I wish I had gotten the big bad Hemi. Other than that, the SUV is great all around. Highly recommend that anyone in the market take one out for a test drive. My wife and I test drove a 2011 Explorer, 2012 Jeep Cherokee and the aggressive styling, AWD, 6500lbs towing ability and roomy 3rd row sold us.
Great Less Expensive Alternative to Tahoe
2014 Dodge DurangoDick E. - Ringgold, GA02/28/2017
Comparing it to the Tahoe. Purchased used and was approximately $7000 less in price with 10000 less miles at time of purchase. Feels and is a bit smaller than the Tahoe and with the R/T package (Hemi) with AWD can tow up to 7200#. Fit and finish is comparable to Tahoe. Intermittent AWD is the biggest disappointment in the snows of the Pacific NW. Not a city driver with poor gas mileage. On the interstate getting between 21-23 MPG varies with wind direction and which set of tires I have on the car. These MPG numbers are when going approximately 0-5 MPG over the posted speed limit. The 8 speed transmission shifts like a dream but not a fan of the paddle shifters (May still not know how to keep them disengaged all the time.)
