Overall Rating

4.4 out of 5(38 reviews)

Piece of junk i had to return it 3 times

The car does not start, I had to video tape it before Carmax would believe me that it was not starting. While waiting in the lobby for the first time I took it, a lady who had the exact car had to be towed in with the exact same problem. There is a reason it is called a dodge,, it means DODGE it. It has been at the shop longer than i have been able to drive it

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew

After several months of research and searching for the right vehicle for our growing family, my wife and I decided on a minivan. We had been driving a Dodge Journey, which was adequate at the time. But a third child necessitated a larger or at least more versatile people hauler. Enter the minivan. Despite the slight stigma of owning a minivan, we are quite pleased with our choice. After researching the best possible combination of utility, comfort, and price we decided on the Dodge Grand Caravan. Certain other minivans (the top three picks are all "imports") are lauded and acclaimed throughout the automotive sphere. And you pay for that. Excessively. Utility: A minivan can't be beat for cargo space and seating. Seating for 7 and 33 cubic feet of cargo space in the normal configuration. Numbers look good on paper. For our purposes this equates to: a double stroller in the back, 3 car seats installed, a full load of groceries, and the various bags of clothes, diapers, and sundry items needed for moving a family of 5 around. All of this without any cramped seating or things piled up around the kids. And there's still room for at least one more passenger of adult size. Where the Grand Caravan excels is with the Stow-n-Go seating. The rear bench and both second row seats fold flat to expand the cargo space to 143 cubic feet (which means you can haul just about anything). Comfort: The fit and finish of the 2011 Grand Caravan is great. It is much better than previous iterations (believe me, we checked first hand). While not as polished as a Toyota Sienna, the cost difference negates that consideration. The seats are comfy enough. Trim fits together and doesn't feel cheap. The optional add-ons (especially the DVD system) are very much worth it. Everything does its job with ease and inspires confidence that it will last. Price: The main consideration. After all the research and searching, you just can't beat the price on a very well equipped Grand Caravan vs. any of the other competitors. Sure polish and drive train smoothness are desirable. But not for the approximately $3000-$5000 extra it would cost to get a low-mid level "import." And that wouldn't have half of the options a much cheaper Grand Caravan would offer. Over-all, the most bang-for-your-buck is right here at the Dodge Grand Caravan. The 2011 is a significant step in the right direction for Dodge, and we are very pleased with the experience.

it is a great van meets all our needs.

It is big enough for wheel chair and plenty of room for groceries. Rides pretty smooth.
