Reviews for 2012 Dodge Journey

Overall Rating

3.5 out of 5 (11 reviews)

It will do in a pinch.

I think the quality of the car is not as high as I am used to. Having driven Honda's and Toyota's for the last several years I haven't had near the problems in them as I do this one. However the price was right at the time as I could not afford the newer Honda's and Toyota's for the space I needed.

Pros

  • Interior Space: plenty of room for my family of 5
  • Cargo Space: It has plenty of space
  • Cabin Noise: It is quieter than My 15 year old Honda

Cons

  • Cost to Maintain: It seems to be having all kinds of problems now that the warrenty is up.
  • Visibility: It has a few blind spots

2012 Dodge Journey SXT

This car was a good purchase, and it fit all of our needs perfectly. Small enough to be an efficient daily driver, yet large enough to take the whole family on a trip. The quality of the interior fit and finish, the Pentastar V-6 providing surprising power (don't even consider the 4 cylinder option), the smooth ride, and the superb handling make this SUV a great value for the price.

Pros

  • Power: Excellent power (290 hp)
  • Ride and Handling: Ride is very refined. Handling is superb for a FWD SUV.
  • Interior Space: Generous interior space, with plenty of head room. Instrumentation and layout are great. Seats are well designed and comfortable.

Cons

  • Fuel Economy: Fuel economy is slightly low for the class. Not a big deal, considering the ample power plant. Dodge's attempt to tweak the fuel economy by altering the transmission's intuitive shift points is more annoying than the (slightly) lower fuel mileage.
