Reviews for 2010 Dodge Journey
A good begining SUV
I bought the 2010 Dodge Journey after my Mitsubishi Montero Limited was totaled in an accident. I like the dodge Journey as it is a good cross-over/SUV. It is available from a 4 -6 cyl. I have the 4, after driving it for a week, I wish I had gotten the 6 cyl, but was thinking economically in terms of gas. it does awesome for saving gas. But the "pick up and go" isnt as fast as I am use to in the montero. I like all the cubbies and hide aways in the journey, especially when you have a car full of kids and their things. My Journey came equipped for what ever extras I would want installed, DVD, MP3 connection 6 disc CD, HD radio, etc. I think the Dodge Journey is a great cross-over, but I will always miss my montero.
I searched high & low for this make/model & color of vehicle. In fact I drove 1,000 miles to get it and made a vacation of it. I had been looking for a crossover and a replacement to my mini van. I liked the look better - it was more stylish, and sleeker then the van, but that look came at a price. Like Jimmy Choo shoes versus Crocs. The van was roomy, wide cushy seats and had tons of space between the front seats - the Journey isn't as roomy and there is a console inbetween. As a result I am constantly poked in the right side (butt) by the seatbelt. I can adjust it but it slips down. With the console I can't put my purse/bag near me - I never put it on the seat next to me for safety. I also didn't realize that extra safety of a sidedoor air bag means the door is higher (before the window starts) and I cannot reach out the window to get to the ATM or most drive through windows. Something you don't think about until you try it for the first time. Not a deal killer but it is a pain & cold in the sub zero winter. Now if you are a tall thin guy or gal - you will have no problem. Now as far as everything else... it handles well, drives well and on a scale of 1 - 10, I would give it an overall 8. Was it worth the 1,000 one way trip... yep :=)
Had the vehicle for about 3 months and the water pump lines broke and left me stranded. Not much horsepower. Sometimes has issues starting with the key and/or the remote start. Just a very mediocre vehicle. I won't buy one again.
