I bought this vehicle in march and I love it. My family and friends also love it. Everywhere I go I get compliments on how good it looks, and everyone asks where I got it from because they did not no they came with rims. My Dodge Nitro Slt came with 20 inch chrome rims, stereo system and chrome trimming. It has great take off power.
I have had my Nitro for about six months now and have been happy with it. When I purchased it, it came with the flashy 20" chrome wheels that have no place on a 4x4. I traded down to the 17's and some beefier tires (stock Goodyear tires leave much to be desired) The performance from the engine of the nitro is more than enough (keeping in mind its not a race car) and the mileage is decent, although I could have gotten a v8 for 14mpg city and 20 highway. The quality of the car seems to be good so far: the only major problem I had was an overflowing gas tank during fill-up, but that problem was covered under the 30 day warranty (replaced gas tank and filler neck) Comfort: nice and roomy- I can fit my whole family in the car comfortably and the shortest one of us is 6' tall. Seats start to get a little hard on long road trips, but that is true with most vehicles.
I bought my 2007 Nitro last August after moving to Florida. At first, the bright orange color was a turn-off while looking on the lot. However, once I test-drove the Nitro, I bought it then and there and have loved it ever since. I am 6'1" and my boyfriend is 6'4". We both fit comfortably in the front and can have his 6'5" brother sit in the backseat with plenty of legroom! The back seats recline and fold completely flat to make plenty of cargo room. We have filled the back with camping gear, helped people move, and use it for our big bloodhound when driving to the dog park. The backs of the back seats are plastic, so do not get damaged by his claws. I love the fact that I feel as if I am sitting in a truck or bigger SUV when driving the Nitro. I do not have to stoop or sit "down" into the driver's seat, which is really annoying when you're tall. The large console in the middle of the two front seats is also convenient for storing valuables that you don't want "seen". I could fit my whole purse in there, and have done so many times. There is also a pop-out section in the back which has two sides. One is flat and carpeted and the other has a rimmed storage compartment. This was really handy when I went grocery shopping. I would simply flip it over, and my bags wouldn't go sliding around the back. Sadly, I am having to replace "Orange Julius" due to a car accident. Another car turned in front of us in an intersection as we were driving about 40 mph. The Nitro kept us all very safe. For as big of an impact as we had, the frame and front end of the car didn't crumple, accordian, or anything. I really felt that it protected us from more serious injuries. Needless to say, I am replacing my Nitro with another Nitro because I loved it so much. I looked at many other smaller SUV/crossovers and was not pleased with the comfort, interior room, and look of them. I can't wait to get my "newer" Nitro!
