Horrible gas mileage and awkward steering
The Dodge Nitro is an excellent choice for the discerning driver. The Nitro feels solid and handles very well, particularly in tough driving conditions (rain, wind, snow). The V-6 engine performs well and seems to love it when there is a need to accelerate. This particular vehicle grew on me. My wife owns one and I got to ride in it as a passenger. But, I wasn't sold on it until the blizzards of 2010 hit the Washington area (30 inches of snow). The Nitro performed exceptionally well. I really like the concept of being able to switch from 2 to 4-wheel drive as needed. This feature really comes in handy when "Mother Nature" decides to remind us who is in charge. The Nitro is also quite comfortable. Other than a need for a little more leg room under the driver's side, the vehicle is great for individual and family use. It is tough, dependable and fun to drive. The sound system is superb! I recommend adding: remote start, blue-tooth and satellite radio.
Absolutely LOVE my Nitro! Can't believe I waited soooo long to get one!!! Would love to have better miles to the gallon, but hey, I'm happy with my vehicle!!! LOVE it!!!!
