We decided to purchase our Ford Edge as a replacement vehicle for our 1998 Ford Explorer Sport (245,000 miles). Our decision was based on our need for more passenger room, a bit more luxury, and ease of use for transporting elderly passengers regularly. We believe that we more than got our money's worth with our first Ford and that the Edge met everything on our wish list. Getting used to driving on a car chasis vs. a truck chasis takes a couple of weeks, but the Edge handles smoothly and its fit and finish, both inside and out, are a pleasure. We have experienced no rattles, no loose parts, nor any poor quality components. We have been challenged, a little, getting used to the technology components, but a local dealer offers a free class on how to use the SYNC features. As we gradually become more familiar with customizing the car's many computer features, our hesitation to explore and use more of the features is diminishing. The voice commands really make it easy to focus on driving with out becoming distracted by the touch screen and its many options. We still accidently turn on the hazard lights now and then, while using the screen, because the controls are so sensitive. Our friends and neighbors have commented on what a good looking car it is and have enjoyed sitting in the driver's seat and exploring the tech features, the teens especially love it! We do recommend purchasing an additional maintainence program, like we did, because we felt that should the electronic features fail at some point within the next six years, it would be expensive to repair them. We love our Edge limited and look forward to having it for many years.
Great size and performance. Fits the bill for our family needs.
Can not say enough good things about my New 2012 Ford Edge. I love the new Green Color, all the on-board tech, and the ride!! Great pick-up when you step on the gas. Getting good mpg for this size car. Ford has really thought of everything a driver could want at his or her fiinger tips!!
