Got what we were looking for

My wife had been wanting an ELECTRIC or a HYBRID for quite some time. We also needed to replace our aging 1996 Taurus Station Wagon. Our daughter is currently a wheel chair user and requires my assistance to transfer to/from the wheelchair. Our purchase of the FORD ESCAPE HYBRID answered all of these requirements. The one we got is painted white (cooler?), and was neat as a pin. The car is already saving us about $10 a week in gas over its predecessor, and transfers for our daughter to/from wheelchair are easier on me. Oh yes, we couldn't get the wheel chair to fit in the other HYBRID vehicles we looked at.

Coverted Gas Guzzler

I drove a gas guzzling, smooth riding, SUV AWD for years. A great vehicle when gas prices were reasonable. 13 mpg, $80-100 dollars a fillup almost every week adds up. The Escape Hybrid still has 4x4 capabilities. Nothing like the gas guzzler, but surprisingly it holds it own on unplowed roads. It was a completely new learning experience to drive. I got close to 30mpg driving immediately after my purchase, and by gently accelerating to speed, over 30 mpg was achieved. For the everyday drives or long drives, it really is a great vehicle. It is peppy with the electric and gasoline motor combination.

multifunctional

The Ford Escape Hybrid allows me to carry everything and/or everyone I needed while still giving me great gas mileage. I have been gettin between 31-33 MPG consistently since purchasing the car April 6, 2011. I looked at various years of this car as welll as similar vechicles by other companies. I decided on the Ford Escape Hybrid for several reasons. One on my biggest priorities was that the back folded down completely flat. I needed to put crates in the back to transport my dogs to and from the groomers. Many models say they fold flat but are at an angle making the dog crates slide. The great space in the back is large enough and comfortable enough not only for my pets but for passengers in the back seat. Many cars do not have enough leg room. I don't like to be cramped so why would my passengers? The MPG was another major reason for my decision. I hae happy with the way the car runs and the performance on the road.
