Used 2007 Ford Escape XLS in Dulles, VA
Reviews for 2007 Ford Escape
I was hoping for a little better MPG. Other than that I like the car alot.
I love my car
This car fits my lifestyle, my children are grown and I am becoming an empty nester. It allows me to move things, not big things, but some things in it. I would recommend it if you are looking for a fuel economy, ease of driving ability. I am not sore from sitting in it for a great deal of time, I have taken it on a trip and got out with out being stiff from sitting for 3 hours. Its awesome
I come from a die-hard GM family, so it was very difficult to decide on buying a Ford. I've taken a lot of heat for it! After I test drove 4 different models (Chevy, Dodge, Pontiac and Ford) the Ford Escape had everything I was looking for. I have always liked trucks and hoped to find something practical along those lines. The Escape has a lot of room for passengers and having 4-doors make it very convenient. 3 people can fit in the back comfortably and if you're small, I'm sure you can squeeze 4 in there! I especially like that I now have 4 windows to put down in the Summertime. :) The back windows only go down halfway, so that was somewhat disappointing. What I liked about it right away was the amount of pick up it has right off the line. I bought the XLT 6 cylinder model. When you press the gas, it GOES. I was looking for this in my next vehicle, as I live on a busy street and must cross 4 lanes of traffic to make a left turn every day for work. The seats are very comfortable and the driver's side has a power seat. This was a big perk for me, as I'm pretty short and it was important for me to be able to raise the seat up higher. As for the storage space for ability to move/haul things, it's very limited. The seats do fold down and there's a lot of room going into the truck, however the back door isn't very wide or tall. I can't imagine that a couch would fit in there (for example) but it is plenty big for something like a Christmas tree. It is a smooth ride, even when going over 55 on the highway. It really has an SUV feeling to it - and I was most impressed with that. The standard stock radio came with a 6-CD changer, which did me no good as I haven't used CDs in at least 10 years. It is supposed to read MP3s burned to CD, but after several attempts I gave up. It didn't work. It is satellite ready, but I no longer have a satellite subscription. This was a nice option, though. I purchased an FM modulator to use my MP3 player and voila! Worked perfectly. The sound system is EXCELLENT for a standard radio. I know it's loud when I drive up to the gas station and people all turn around to give me dirty looks - lol. It's loud enough that if I'm singing, I can't hear my bad voice. Gas mileage is standard for any 6 cylinder engine. It does get better mileage than my previous vehicle with 6 cylinders, so I was happy about that. Overall, it is a smooth ride with some nice perks. The price was in my range and it had the features I was looking for. I am simply in love with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an SUV feeling without the SUV 8-cylinder gas guzzling.
