Plenty of storage space, back seats are roomy and comfortable. Probably the best car purchase I have ever made.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.365 reviews) I downsized from a very large SUV to this Escape XLT. I am still getting used to it, but I enjoy driving it a lot. I got the V6 so there is plenty of power for merging onto the highway, I like that it has a more square SUV look rather than the car look of some of the crossovers. It's very roomy inside, so I can still fill up the cargo area with groceries or coolers for traveling. I do find the seats a bit harder than the larger SUV I had and there is a bit more noise in the cabin area from the engine, but those would by my only complaints so far. I love the sync function for hands-free talking on the phone. The power adjustable seats and blind spot mirrors make it a breeze to drive comfortably.

Choices

Initially, I was interested in buying an Impala. While test driving the Impala, I experienced difficulty entering the driver's seat. The Impala, once inside, was quiet and comfortable. When we got back to the dealership, my wife suggested that I try the back seat. I found the Impala suffered from a lack of foot room in the back seat. I asked the salesperson if I could try their 2011 Ford Escape Limited. I found the Escape much easier to enter and had plenty of back seat footroom. During the test drive, the Escape was peppier and more comfortable than the Impala. Since purchasing the Escape, I find that I again enjoy "just tooling around." Before the Escape I owned 3/4 ton GMC pickup truck that averaged 8 to 12 miles per gallon, depending on use. With the Escape I have improved my gas mileage at least twice. My dog also prefers the Escape.

I don't think it was a great purchase for the money spent

city gas mileage was supposed be about 22 to 24 miles per gallon. Highway was supposed to be about 28. I am getting around 17 miles per gallon city and around 25 miles per gallon highway. The back trunk and overhead moon roof leak. It runs rough. When driving you can hear the air leaks. Very noisy.

Hassle free, and received the car I wanted

The car was in great condition, there was a scratch on the hood that was buffed out by car max. It was a fleet car, with only 38,000 miles on for 15,900, It runs great!! Its been a year since I bought this car, and I still love it!!
