Customer Review Summary for Ford Expedition
Ford Expedition is worth every penny
2006 Ford ExpeditionWe love our Ford - Augusta, GA06/05/2011
We are a family of nine. We recently purchased a nine passenger 2006 Ford Expedition and have been in love with this SUV ever since the initial test drive. It drives very smoothly and is very spacious. All nine of sit very comfortably. We would certainly recommend this vehicle to people who have large families. We love our Ford!
1998 Buyer Beware
1998 Ford ExpeditionSoaringPilot - Atlanta, GA11/24/2006
Overall the truck has been very useful and has a ton of room in it. The engine is strong and performs well. The problem is the reliability and costs to maintain.
Fords are supposed to have a reputation of unmatched reliability and longevity...and that may be correct if you keep pouring money in it.
The differential had to be rebuilt, the heater core had to be replaced (and there is still rust in the system). The cooling is starting to die and to top it off, at 140,000 miles (with less than 1 yr old plugs) a spark plug blew out of the engine requiring a $3600 repair. After researching, this is not an isolated incident and not very rare at all in any of the Ford Triton engines.
Just do a search on FORD SPARK PLUG PROBLEMS and see what you find. It's a great truck for the room and performance...but gets a big "F" for reliability.
2008 Ford Expedition Review
2008 Ford ExpeditionJesus - Jurupa Valley, CA02/22/2015
I purchased this vehicle with intent of towing a lightweight 27ft travel trailer. Even though I haven't made all the modifications necessary to do that yet, I don't expect to have any issues. The vehicle was so low mileage (until I bought it anyway) that I doubt I will have an issue. I was surprised by the amount of interior room. Now I'm the one who has to drive to lunch all the time (I've had 6 full size adults in the vehicle).
The Ford F-150, the top-searched vehicle on carmax.com in 2017, has a heck-raising version called the SVT Raptor. Love it or not, the Ford Raptor is impossible to ignore. It rules the road (and dirt, mud, sand, etc.)!
