Great value for the money for an older style SUV. Excellent space and ride for up to 8. Decent MPG for an SUV this size (20 MPG highway on long trips). 4.6L V8 has plenty of power and 3rd row seat flods completely flat for hauling extra gear.
A good choice when we downsized

This replaced our 2000 Excursion v-10. We were to get a V-8 with enough power and towing capacity, and four wheel drive like we had in the Excursion. The only down side is that the Expedition is 20 inches shorter. There are times when we miss that extra 20 inches.
Excellent for tall or large families!

There were five of us when I made this purchase. Everybody in the household except my 6mth old daughter is 5.11 to 6.4. I got into every SUV that was on the lot just about and the Expedition fit the best. It has enough leg room and head room for everyone to ride comfortably.
One drawback to this particular year model is the cargo space. It would be so much better if it had a recessed compartmet for groceries so they don't slide around and if a standard travel stroller would fit with the 3rd row up.
Another drawback to this year model is that I was told they developed "soft-catch" door latches. The electronic sensors don't always pick up the signal that the door is closed until 2-4 miles down the road. But that might just be my vehicle.
But overall, I am completly satisfied with my purchase and would buy another one in a heartbeat. From what I hear Ford has addressed at least one of my "beefs".
Have Fun and Enjoy!
