Used 2008 Ford Expedition XLT for Sale
Reviews for 2008 Ford Expedition
This large SUV drives like a car and has a very surprising turn radius for such a large vehicle. The comfort level is extremely nice and the ride smooth. I am a little disappointed in the interior quality of the instrument panel and windshield wiper switches. They seem a tad on the cheap side. The interior space is excellent and the automatic folding rear seats is a plus. Overall, an excellent value for the money!
2008 Ford Expedition Limited
I moved into an Expedition from a Ford Edge. Previously I had owned a Chevy Tahoe, so this is more a comparison of the Tahoe vs the Expedition. The Edge is a different class of vehicle. The Expedition feels much heavier than the Tahoe. It is a much smoother ride and feels more stable on the road. The 5.3L V8 has a great deal of power, appropriate for the size and weight of the vehicle. It does about the same on gas as the Tahoe. Driving around Austin I usually get 6-7 days on a tank. At $3.20 a gallon I fill it for around $78. Be prepared to spend about $300-$350 a month in gas. I really like the third row power folding seats. They do fold flat and the second row will lower to be at the same level, so it creates a very large flat cargo area when needed. The tahoe had a third row as well, but those seats had to be removed from the vehicle to get the same amount of cargo space as the Expedition. Those seats were heavy, so the Expedition has the Tahoe beat on convenience and flexibility of the cargo area.
End of Minivan Dad
Going from a minivan to an Expedition is truly a different experience. The van has more cargo and compartment space. Of course the van was better on gas. This purchase was more about style and function for a growing family of five. We would have purchased the Expedition EL version to have more cargo space. Overall, we are satisfied with our purchase.
