Great looking car - a pickup that is built on an SUV chassis. Has a great ride and still has the advantages of a pickup.
Bought one new in 2004. Have had minimal issues considering the time I've had the truck. A transmission sensor (which was under recall) when I got the truck. A fuel sensor went out, Front end needed new ball joints and a radiator replacement. Had the Sportrac for 12 yrs and it still runs like a champ.
Oh My....where do I start...this truck is GREAT!!!...traded-in a 1996 Ford Explorer,(Eddie Bauer Edition)...I liked the 'layout' of the instrumention (dashboard controls) on my '96, and my Sport Trak is almost exactly alike (with some minor changes, but for the better)...I really like the interior..it reminds me so much of my '96.....my '96 rode like a truck..(kinda-rough)...but the ride in this Sport Trak is like 'floating' down the road...I think my favorite part is, it feels like an SUV in the cab-part...but instead of a 'compartment' in the back section, there's a pick-up bed...by the way my '96 explorer just turned 239,000...(replaced the engine at 211,000....head gasket went out...put an engine from a 1997 ford explorer in it with only 33,000 mles on it)..it was like someone getting a 'pace-maker')....I know I'll get plenty of miles out of this Sport Trak...it is really well built...But if it breaks...I will definately buy another...(LOL)...only gave it 4 stars in quality...I would like to see some wood-grain trim on the dash & door panels....(even if it is the plastic kind)..really class it up a little...
