I just traded my 2002 Explorer XLT for a 2007 Exlorer Eddie Bauer. I love the contrasting exterior trim and overall appearance of the vehicle. The interior looks nice but is cramped feeling compared to my 2002. The seats seem stiff and there is very little adjustment for the height of the seat. I'm not tall, but with the drivers seat in its lowest position, my head is very near the headliner. Moving the shifter to the console is nice for appearance, but it takes away tons of storage room - I'd prefer it back on the column. As for performance, compared to the 2002, this one blows the 2002 away in acceleration and responsivness (both equipmed with 4L v6). The suspension is very stiff, almost a sports car feel, compared to the 2002 so the ride is not as pleasant to me. Overall, I like the 2007 Eddie Bauer. Pros - appearance, performance. Cons - comfort, ride.
We bought a used 2007 Ford Explorer with about 32,000 miles on it. It is the Eddie Bauer edition so looks very sporty, has leather seats, and most of the bells and whistles. It has a lot of room - the 2nd seat easily fits 3 people and there are 2 more seats in the 3rd row. This is our first SUV and we hesitated about buying one in the past because they drove like trucks. The Ford Explorer drives and handles like a car and has an extremely smooth ride. It doesn't have a fast pick up but it's not slow. We chose the 6 cylinder to save on gas. The 2nd & 3rd row seats fold easily. We like the side storage Ford put in the 3rd row. We have no complaints and have been very satisfied.
The 2007 Ford Explorer is one AWESOME truck. It is very sturdy and has an unexpectedly smooth ride. This truck is perfect for large families and hauling large items. I would happily recommend this truck to everyone!
