I purchased this SUV and then drove from California to Colorado. I was incredibly pleased with the gas mileage & overall comfort of the car. This is my first SUV to own, but I have driven many & been the passenger in many. This vehicle does not have all the bells & whistles (no navigation, leather seats, seat warmers, multi-disc changer, sunroof), but has ALL the basics. So far -- very pleased with this purchase.

Drove a 1996 Jeep for 12 years. Love my 2008 Explorer. Smooth, quite, roomy, comfortable, and good looking. V6 is lacking a bit in performance but adequate for most driving situations. Gas mileage is lower than I would like but when you need/want towing capacity and 4WD, you pay for it a bit in lack of fuel economy.
