Underrated luxury

I spent a month looking at luxury SUVs (Mercedes, BMW, Range Rovers, Audi, Cadillac, etc) before I came across this find. It has everything I looked for in a luxury vehicle and is spacious enough for my needs. Dual panel sunroof that can give you a semi panoramic view, power adjusted pedals, true power steering, power lift gate, power 3rd row seats, inflatable 2nd row seat belts, ambient lighting, towing suspension, rear view camera, dual zone, keyless entry, remote start (my favorite feature!), 110 volt outlet, memory settings, navigation.

I have had the opportunity to drive many different vehicles over the years and have been extremely pleased with the 2006 Ford Explorer. The comfort and quality have been outstanding and after I purchased it (1 year ago) 2 friends were so impressed they went out and got one of their own. I was fortunate and mine I purchased had only 18,000 miles on it at 5 years old. It was practically brand new. Third row seats are awesome having when i need them but mostly stay down. Only complaints I have is the lack of Bluetooth hookup (which is the case for most vehicles made in 2006 and the smaller 1.25" tow hitch size. The vehicle is fully capable of towing 6K+ lbs if not for the tow hitch rating. (and that is not to say i haven't tested that weight limit a time or two) It really is a thrill to get up every morning and enjoy the vehicle that you are driving.

The Ford Explorer was a great find. I had the Explorer Sport for 12 years andd needed a bigger car. This has fold down 3rd row seating for extra storage. It's just what I was looking for. It's easy to handle in the snow up the mountain too. I don't have to put on chains anymore, just push a button an I'm in 4x4. It feels like a luxury car, seats are comfortable for the long drives, it has a smooth shifting automatic transmission. (I've always has a stick) It's a joy to drive. Even my husband likes to drive it & he drives big rigs. He doesn't feel cramped into the car, He's 6ft & it has a lot of leg room.
