Reviews for Ford Explorer
The 2010 Explorer is the last year they made it on a truck body. After 2010 they switched to the new style on a car body. I wanted a truck - not a car - and this fits the bill. Much bigger than my 99 Explorer. Still great features - leather seats, sunroof, bluetooth, etc. Plenty of room without being too big - like the Expedition. I got over 300K on my 99 Explorer - I plan on driving this one to at least 250K. The Explorer platform is proven and time tested. Look how many old Explorers you see on the road.
Made in the South, a groundbreaking series classic
Buyers of older used vehicles have an important dillema to solve first: how can they expect to deal with the expense and inconvenience of inevitable repairs? In the seminal series of the Ford Explorer, transformational electronics were added about 1996, with a diagnostic display from a trip computer. This gave the driver an advantage of calculating their mileage and MPG, checking tire pressure , etc.. All the new owner has to do is look at the mileage and then the milestone chart for maintenance, and calculate the risks. Everything still works in my vehicle, but I have put only one major ($550.00) and one minor repair on it in a year.
This car is just more. More room for passengers, more slick gadgets and features, but also more gas consumption. I was driving a Prius but as I get older I find it harder to hoist myself out of it, and if I was next to an SUV I couldn't really see what was around me when driving. Now, I'm the one blocking other's view.
