The 2010 Explorer is the last year they made it on a truck body. After 2010 they switched to the new style on a car body. I wanted a truck - not a car - and this fits the bill. Much bigger than my 99 Explorer. Still great features - leather seats, sunroof, bluetooth, etc. Plenty of room without being too big - like the Expedition. I got over 300K on my 99 Explorer - I plan on driving this one to at least 250K. The Explorer platform is proven and time tested. Look how many old Explorers you see on the road.
So Far- So Good

I absolutely love the space on the driver 's side. The comfortable seat and adjustable controls make for a comfortable fit. The ride is absolutely smooth and handles rough surface roads well. I like all the little bells and whistles from the blind spot indicator in the side view mirrors to remote start from my 4th floor apartment.

Less than 12 hours after I bought the car, the center control panel began intermittent shut downs. The took two weeks to solve and repair. Four months after I bought the car (this week), the climate system failed and will not turn on. I couldnt get the car in until after Christmas, so here I sit unable to use the car again.
