i have owned F-150s since 1991, tough, dependable, trouble free. I have been a mechanic for over 40 yrs,and i consistently get 150,000 and more, out of them. I have always had standard shift, which is no longer available now, hence I had to find a used one, instead of buying new. The small v6 is ok, but the earlier straight 6- (,300 c i ,) was more powerfull. Truck shifts, and handles well, good visibility, good ride. There is quite a bit of road noise (this is a standard xl) which i will remedy by applying some sound proofing paint. This is the first truck i have owned with a larger (extended) cab. The extra space behind the front seat is nice, the small narror doors open and close easily.I have had to get used to crank windows, and manual mirrors,as i always ordered my previous fords 'loaded". Truck has 10, thous on it,so im looking forward to an easy 140 more. All in all, Im very pleased.

I love my 2008 Ford F150 XL, it's my first full size truck after driving a Ford Ranger for 13 years. I don't think I could ever go back to a pickup truck unless it was a second vehicle, a full size truck just offers so much more, and yes even though the F150 is not as fuel efficient as it's younger brother the Ranger, it's still a purchase I highly recommend!!

Gas Mileage around 12-13 overall, on a pure highway trip I got 17
I love all the features in the lariat! Kinda wish it drove like an FX4 though.
All in all, I am very happy and plan to drive it for years to come.
