Transmission: Automatic Color:Red Interior Color: Red Average Vehicle Review: (5 reviews) My 2008 6.4 litre Diesel has the poorest milage of all Ford Diesels thus far. Does not make a lot of sense to be going backwards. You pay more for diesel, more for fuel than gas, more for upkeep, and milage is less it seems than gas. What incentive is to have a diesel now. Mine has 21,000 and I get 11-12 mpg daily. 9 mpg towing my horse trailer. Empty and keeping it below 70 I get 14 mpg. The last 6.0 litre I got 16-17 mpg. The last 7.3 litre I got around 20 mpg. That to me is going backwards. I am paying more for less. The comfort is great and truck looks great as it should for $60k. Not many more toys could be put on it. But when it does it's regeneration (cleaning exhaust filter) that takes about 12 miles and does it around every 100-150 miles and seams to use about a 1/8 of tank of fuel is not impressive as it whines up and down during the process. I have had two 7.3's. two 6.0's and now this 6.4. This will probably be my last diesel and Ford if they don't do something drastic. Come on guys, we should being going forward.
