This 2006 FORD F-250 is a replacement for my 2003 Ford with 300K miles F-250 both 2 wheel drive, 5.4 gas.
The 2003 is an outstanding vehicle, served me well with no serious maintenance problems. The wife has it now and she loves it.
I needed a vehicle of that caliber that would stand up to the same over the road abuse and mileage.
I looked at many vehicles other than Ford however, I kept returning to the Ford F-series line. The market is saturated with the 6.0 Power Stroke 4x4. I had no need for the diesel-4x4, with the amount of miles I put on I was advised that it would lead to maintenance problems. I sent out my request on the internet and after some time up popped the 2006 F-250 5.4 gas with 30K miles. Not as many bells and whistles as the 2003 but extra features that equaled out.
I looked, test drove, purchased, went on vacation.
The family loved it, spacious good ride. I have had the vehicle for 3 months taken several business trips and so far it has lived up to it's replacement.
If you are considering a used or new pickup please take a minute and look at "The truth about Trucks" CD provided by Ford. It was very informative and shed a light on the pick up truck market.
Ford, if you are reviewing this, Do something with that 6.0, even the dealers don't like them the 7.3 was your best go back.
2013 Ford F250Sue - Dallas, TX07/11/2014
I bought this truck to pull my travel trailer, however, it is also my every day vehicle. It tows great, and the MPG around town isn't as bad as I expected. I get 13 in town, 16 on highway, and 8 towing a 6,000 lb camper. My truck has a long bed, so parking in the city can be a bit tricky, but it is manageable.
A truck can offer the perfect blend of utility and power. The sturdy truck bed carries all the tools needed to get a tough job done, and the engine and its torque can help tow all the equipment. With that in mind, different trucks have different towing options. Whether it’s towing for work or the family vacation, here are seven used trucks that excel at pulling their weight.
Do frigid temperatures and harsh weather leave you cold on the idea of braving the elements in your car? When you’re piloting a vehicle that’s up to the task, wintertime driving isn’t so much of a challenge. Instead, it can be fun!
