I am a Ford girl, always have had Ford trucks pulling horse trailers and have NEVER let me down. My F150, which was totaled at 220,000 miles still was great and pulled strong. Have already been down to Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, with my F250..... Drove like a dream, highly recommend... Already has tow package including trailer breaking. I pull a goose neck and a straight trailer with NO problems.
Awesome truck. Beautiful, comfortable, quiet, powerful. Tows my camper up and down mountains passing other vehicles. However, the gas mileage is just as poor as everyone says it is. For me, i live in a small town and don't commute far so it is no big deal, but it is pretty lame. It sounds like they have improved it some in the 2011. Otherwise, if power is what you need and mileage isn't that important, great truck. On hwy I can get up to 18 mpg if I stay below speed limit, but usually it is more like 16. In the small town I drive in, i usually average 11-12. Towing trailer it is more like 9. Otherwise for getting stuff done without ever hesitating it is a wonderful thing.
Completely happy with the truck. Gas mileage as mentioned by others is around 15mpg with a combination of city and freeway. Towing no problem, don't even know my trailer (8000 lbs.) is even back there and the fuel mileage is the same. Plenty of room! Back seat area is huge. Wish there was some power outlets in the back for the kids stuff (It's there on the 2008) but overall the fit and finish is good (not up to european cars, but good). It rides smooth and is very quiet can't hear the diesel once moving. I have the short bed and it's a bear to park though. Considered a long bed and I'm very happy that I didn't get the extra length, especially when trying to get in any parking stall. I have the Lariat package, leather, Captians Seats, wood grain, etc. Very basic for the upgrade, but it's a truck and seems just stylish enough for my tastes. Power adjustable pedals that I though would be an assume feature have been so, so. Really no consernable difference for my height (6'2") when I adjust them up or down. I also have the built in brake controller and the tow/haul transmisson. These are excellent features and would not pass this up if your doing any towing. 23,000 miles so far and no problems.
