I bought this truck because I needed something to pull my 24' cargo trailer and classic car. It's the King Ranch edition, so it came with nearly every option. Don't be fooled: this is a work truck. Unloaded on the highway it can get loose on rough pavement due to the heavy-duty springs. The seats are comfortable, but you'll never forget what you're driving. The sound system is typical Ford- nothing to write home about- but Kenwood makes a bolt-in DVD/nav/satellite stereo for it. About $1250 for that and some decent speakers and you're ready to haul anything, anywhere. Unloaded the truck gets 19mpg highway, but with my loaded trailer it got 11. It never dropped below 65mph even in the mountains, so I'm not complaining. Loaded the truck smooths out quite a bit as the springs settle with the weight. It's a good looking truck, plenty of interior room for long trips, but there are no climate vents for back-seat passengers so some accommodating may be required in extreme heat or cold. I'm planning on getting a 30' trailer to haul the car and have living quarters and I have no doubt it will pull it just fine.
MY FORD F350 LARIAT DIESEL DUALLY IS A FANTASTIC TRUCK. THE DIESEL HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH POWER TO PULL MY 40ft 5TH WHEEL TRAILER AND GET DECENT FUEL MILAGE. WITHOUT THE TRAILER IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING 16+ MPG ON THE HIGHWAY. AROUND TOWN 10ish, BUT I BOUGHT IT OR THE HIGHWAY. THE TRUCK IS AS COMFORTABLE AS A TRUCK CAN BE. WITHOUT THE TRAILER IT IS A LITTLE BUMPY/STIFF, BUT AGAIN IT IS DESIGNED FOR TOWING. THIS IS A DUALLY, AND IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO USE A DRIVE UP WINDOW. SHE IS LOADED WITH NAV, BACKUP CAMERA, LEATHER SEATS, ETC, AND IS A PLEASURE TO DRIVE. IT IS BUILT TO DO A JOB, AND DOES IT VERY WELL. IF YOU HAVE A "NEED" FOR THIS TYPE OF TRUCK YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
So far I'm impressed with this vehicle. As my first diesel I was a bit worried about the ongoing problems with 6.0 PSD (head gaskets!). As of now I've had zero problems with the vehicle. I haul a 18ft toy hauler and you don't even know it's behind the vehicle. I love this truck so much I've been using it as my daily driver, even though I have a second vehicle for that role. Only downside is the MPG, I average about 13.5, but you don't get a one ton truck expecting great MPG. The fit and finish is very nice, and for such a large truck it rides nice. Ford has the best looking heavy duty trucks on the market.
