I wish i could give this car negative stars. This has been the worst car experience of my life. All the reviews i read and all the research i did on this car fell through almost immediately. I wanted to get a vehicle with great gas mileage, a decent amount of cargo space, and inexpensive without being cheap. All the reviews pointed to this car.
I bought this car in June 2014. Since then, I have replaced the CLUTCH of an automatic car 4 TIMES through the recall program. The car has a manual transmission controlled by a computer that is supposed to shift itself to save on fuel. I get a recall notice about every 6 monthS: clutch, latches, transmission, computer, etc.
It feels unsafe to drive this car. It makes me worried!
Nothing this fun should get 30 mpg

This car is hilarious fun. It has the best brakes of any car I have ever driven and has incredible grip. It may not drift like a rwd sports car, but it rotates nicely on corner entry and is very neutral through turns. It is definitely the best handling front wheel drive car sold in the US and one of the best handling cars regardless. More importantly, it does all of that while gettin 30 mpg combined and you can actually fit stuff in it. The ride is firm and it gets a little bouncey on larger bumps, but that is the price you pay for 0.96g of lateral grip. The transmission is bolt-action slick, I find the seats very comfortable, and there is enough adjustment in the seats and steering wheel for most anyone to find the right driving position.
Terrible transmission, great visitility

I've only owned this car 4 months, but I've had it to the dealer three times for work on its transmission. I'm still hoping they will be able to straighten out the problem, but at least it's still under warranty. I bought it primarily because of its great visibility - the rear seat headrests even tilt down to create better view through the rear window.
The Ford F-150, the top-searched vehicle on carmax.com in 2017, has a heck-raising version called the SVT Raptor. Love it or not, the Ford Raptor is impossible to ignore. It rules the road (and dirt, mud, sand, etc.)!
