The 2011 Focus doesn't look as cool as the new generation, but it still performs well. In the city, I run around 20-27 mpg, depending on traffic. During long highway trips, I get about 37-40 mpg. Acceleration is excellent for 2.0 Liters. The back seat is small, and I'm still not sure about the plastic trim. I'm thinking of getting some new wheels to replace the plastic hubcaps.

My second car from Carmax
2011 Ford FocusDsilly82 - San Diego, CA12/03/2012
I would like to say that this is the second car I bought from the same Carmax in San Diego in 7 months. Honestly I looked around and did a lot of reaserch on both of my cars before setteling in with the folks at Carmax. Truth is, I couldn't find a better level of service or higher standards for warranties and service anywhere SD (and I looked around) bar none. The fact that they have "no haggle" pricing just takes that old view of the dreaded used car salesman off the table and gives you the freedom to look for a car you can afford without all the pressure of "making the deal" at all costs. Having said all that, the ford focus I bought is running great and i'm very pleased with the purchase too. They were up front with me about the cars history having been a rental originaly and didn't try to hide any facts about it and I had made it clear that I needed an "A to B" second car and it all came together nicely. I would recommend that you shop around a while, then check out Carmax after you have been to a few other lots. I would think that you would find Carmax to be a much more chilled environment but with highly skilled staff that know in great detail whats going on with there cars. Also try test driving some of their cars and i'd bet they don't bring up "I see you in this car today" or some other terrible catch phrase and just allow you to get a good feel for the various cars handling and comfort. One last thing they can plug you in the system and tell you how much the cars really are with taxes and different coverages in warranty without making the sale, so no suprises.
