Customer Review Summary for Ford Freestyle
2007 Ford Freestyle
2007 Ford FreestyleWant to be green - SLC, Ut02/27/2008
We were looking for the most fuel efficient vehicle one could get for hauling 7 passengers. TheToyota Highlander Hybrid was the most fuel efficient, but we settled on the Freestyle. The Highlander still was not that fuel efficient. So paying nearly double the cost for only a modest 20 - 30% increase in mileage was not worth it.
We have found the Freestyle every bit as good as the Highlander in all other areas. Great value for the money. Plenty of room for the kids. Configuration options for the space inside the car are fantastic. The car is responsive, The ride is smooth, and seating is comfortable.
Our only disappointment is that we would like to get better gas mileage than 24 mpg. We found that we may have to wait several more years before the US market provides a fuel-efficient, reasonably priced, large-passenger vehicle.

At 75,000 miles we have had (or need) to fix several problems on this vehicle. A lot of little things that cost a lot of money.
-The A/C condenser has had to be replaced.
-In cold weather, there is a shrill screeching sound at start up
-Power steering needs to be fixed
-Power windows lost power
-Motor Mount was cracked and has been fixed
-Heated seats lost power, had to fix
Pros & Cons to this car:
There are three rows of seating, however it is not a lot of space for the 3rd row. A full size adult does not have enough leg room.
We have three of the four seat holding carseats, and there is almost not enough room for their legs.
The back seats are easy to fold down, and make convenient storage.
There are lots of cup holders.
The Ford F-150, the top-searched vehicle on carmax.com in 2017, has a heck-raising version called the SVT Raptor. Love it or not, the Ford Raptor is impossible to ignore. It rules the road (and dirt, mud, sand, etc.)!
