I read up quite a bit online regarding hybrids before I ever went to the dealer(s) to start test driving. I had pretty much narrowed it down between the Fusion and the Prius, both getting excellent reviews and feedback from their owners. I tested the Fusion hybrid first and was impressed with it's sporty interior and handeling; not to mention the Sync System. I drove the Prius next. It was a no brainer from the moment I pulled onto the road. The Fusion had much better handling and a much more tight and stable feel. (The Prius seemed top-heavy.) If you are wavering between two or more vehicles. I would recommend going to a Carmax because chances are, they will have whatever you are considering and you can compare them side by side and it makes it a much easier decision. I've had my Fusion hybrid a little over a month and I can't be happier!
I really wanted a hybrid car, but was not sold on getting something as small as the Prius or the hybrid Civic. I also hadn't owned a hybrid before and was nervous that I would be trading in luxury for fuel economy. I actually had no idea this car even existed until I saw it on the lot. Plus the style of the Fusion is 100x's better than the Prius and it has so much more room. My Fusion definitely changed my opinion on hybrids!
My wife and I were originally wanting a Civic hybrid to replace her 1999 Civic. However, after test driving both the Civic hybrid and the Fusion hybrid there was no comparison. Ford hit a home run with this car. The interior is very comfortable and we both find the computer interface to be intuitive and easy to navigate for a couple of millennials. The electric motor is silent and the interior is quiet even at highway speed. The bluetooth phone connection is great both for conversations and streaming music. I have a 55 mile a day commute and the ability to hold conference calls while driving has greatly increased my productivity. The gasoline engine is small but powerful and I have no trouble in the passing lane.
