Previously, I owned a 2001 V-6 Convertible, and basically traded for the 2005 GT v-8 Convertible (Black). It is a significant upgrade from previous Mustangs, with superior power, handlng and interior, retro styling that make this a fun to own and drive car. There is nothing on the road that matches the 0-60, 5.2 seconds and rides as smoothly. The gas mileage is better than expected, as i get 24-25 HWY, and 20-21 around town, totally unexpected and welcome. There is no downside to the vehicle, except the 1000 watt Shaker system; i had to remove the 2 subwoofers in the trunk and replace with a single 10" Kicker sub, as the factory install took up fully 1/4-1/3 of the trunk space and the golf clubs did not fit in. Now they do. The power adjustable seats fit every height, weight and body style; the car just drives like a dream and catches glimpses and comments everywhere. Back to driving for fun and enjoyment!!!
I have long been a fan of the mustang, and old looks with the new techbology of the 05+ have always got my attention. I had an 02 Mustang lx convertible whic I loved, until I got my 05 GT 5sp convertible. I forgot what fun a standard is to drive, the power and gearing of this car cant be beat. The leather interior with metal trim is sharp, and the extra like the "my light"options is just too cool. All this and I get about 20 mpg to and from work, and up to 26 on the highway. 0-60 way to quick and not sure what the top speed is, but 100 in third does just fine. If your looking for a fun fast car, the mustang cant be beat.
After 3 years, I still love my green 2005 Mustang. She still runs like a beauty and does surprisingly well in snow. I live in Chicago, and she handles the nutty weather great. Get stares and comments all the time. Crazy powerful for a v6. <3 it.
