2005 Mustang- 6 cylinder

campesino - Albuquerque, NM 09/20/2010

No previous experience with the Mustang. Bought for teenage daughter to drive. We got a former rental with 45,000 miles that looked and drove like a new car. Excellent performance with the 6 cylinder engine. Front seats very comfortable-- back seats?- forget it unless you have small children to stash there for short trips. I would see this vehicle as a 2 + 2. Suspension not very compliant over even small bumps in the road- can cause you to lose traction around a rough corner-- could use independent rear suspension. Visibility out not as bad as I expected. Large trunk for car size. Steering input gives good feedback. Interior quality above average. I didn't like retro gauges, daughter does. All in all, we are very happy with the vehicle so far-- performance for price hard to beat. Very good quality, solid. Not state of the art engineering, but fun to drive.

Superior value for the money! and FUN!

Previously, I owned a 2001 V-6 Convertible, and basically traded for the 2005 GT v-8 Convertible (Black). It is a significant upgrade from previous Mustangs, with superior power, handlng and interior, retro styling that make this a fun to own and drive car. There is nothing on the road that matches the 0-60, 5.2 seconds and rides as smoothly. The gas mileage is better than expected, as i get 24-25 HWY, and 20-21 around town, totally unexpected and welcome. There is no downside to the vehicle, except the 1000 watt Shaker system; i had to remove the 2 subwoofers in the trunk and replace with a single 10" Kicker sub, as the factory install took up fully 1/4-1/3 of the trunk space and the golf clubs did not fit in. Now they do. The power adjustable seats fit every height, weight and body style; the car just drives like a dream and catches glimpses and comments everywhere. Back to driving for fun and enjoyment!!!
