Overall, it has been a good purchase. Good value for the money. If you only need a small truck to haul items for home use, this is a good truck to look at. Gas mileage is not too bad (17 MPG - town) for the 4.0 liter. Brakes are little rough - they stop you but are not very smooth (brake pedal shakes due to anti-lock brakes). Acceleration is good - no problems merging on to a highway or going up a hill. Appearance is very pleasing but it is a truck not a luxury car! Comfort is good - don't know if I would want to go on a very long trip though (seats are stiff with not a lot of support).

This is my 3rd Ford Ranger and I have been very happy with the performance of the trucks. There is a good reason that it is Motor trends #1 truck in its class the last 18 years. It is a great small truck for the money.

The Ford F-150, the top-searched vehicle on carmax.com in 2017, has a heck-raising version called the SVT Raptor. Love it or not, the Ford Raptor is impossible to ignore. It rules the road (and dirt, mud, sand, etc.)!
