This vehicle makes for an excellent commuter car. MPGs are competitive, Stick shift makes driving fun. This most definitely isn't the family car. Cargo? Sure. Engine's too small for serious jobs, but it'll handle most household needs. Passengers? You only get two, and it's not very comfortable. Performance? Lacking, unless you want to rev high. Fun? Absolutely. You really feel the road in this truck. Between this and the manual trans, my commute is rather interesting these days.

I purchased this vehicle in May of 2010 and couldnt be happier! It has a "beefy" ride for being a compact truck. The handling on it is superb! With a V-6 4.0 Liter engine gives it alot of power and acceleration at a moments notice. The FX4 Off-road package is a dream to have especially during the winter months. The interior comes with rubberized floor boards, IPOD plug-in, and higher backed seats than the previous Rangers. The center console sits higher than most and makes you feel confined to your seat would be my only complaint. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a sporty compact truck with considerable power.

I drive a 2001 Flex Fuel 3.0 liter 2WD XLT and love it. I have over 145,000 miles on it and its still running great. I have had 1500lbs. in the bed and pulling 2000lbs. on a trailer all at the same time. I don't recommend it but it did an amazing job. The truck doesn't drive that well when there's snow on the ground so I add weight in the winter. The maintenance has been very low over all. The 3.0 liter has enough power to pass on highways and has good fuel mileage. I range between 17 mpg with E-85 and 20 mpg with normal unleaded gas. Rangers are great trucks!
