It's been a disappointment

We decided to replace our Ford Windstar: we had 120,000 miles on it, and frankly the recalls were piling up. So, because of the 8-passenger seating, we went with the Acadia. It looks great, and ours came with all of the bells and whistles. Unfortunately, we have had issue after issue, especially with those bells and whistles. The sunroofs (-rooves?) leak. We have had water coming out of the rear backup sensor lights, the overhead lights, even out of the airbag panel by the driver's seat - every time it rains. We had the drainage tubes (who knew?) flushed out and were told that they were full of pine needles (we bought pre-owned). But it still leaks. Design issue? The CD/DVD player works....most of the time. Until it doesn't. And, naturally, it will start working again about a day before I have an appointment to bring it in. I do like the look of the car, and there is a lot more legroom than I expected with 8-passenger seating. The cargo room is MUCH smaller than we had with the Windstar; my mother-in-law uses a foldable wheelchair, and we can barely fit it in the back of the Acadia. If everything worked as expected on this vehicle, it would easily be 4-stars....but it hasn't, since we brought it home.

Love the style Hate the engineering

We bought this car because we needed a third row. It has a really big third row ans I love the cargo seats. We absolutely love the interior of this vehicle. We bought it brand new and have had problems with it every since. Let me list the problems we have had. I would never recommend someone buying this vehicle. Leaking Sunroof - Have tried to fix 4 times and still leaks Radio speakers going out. Sometimes they work, sometimes not Had to replace the Navigation system Front shocks went out after few years Randomly drains the battery Remote start fails about 10% of the time A/C broke and needed repair To change a simple headlight you have to remove the wheel and remove the plastic under fender. About an hour job Plastic pieces on seat in back broke Car will start idling low and high when stops and then dies Had to have the computer calibrated 3 times for transmission issues Terrible gas mileage Clock will not keep good time Speedometer quit working As you can see its been a nightmare. I'm about to dump this piece of garbage for anything else. Avoid the Acadia's or at least the 2007's.

Great Styling. Disappointing Quality.

We loved the styling of the Acadia since it first came out in 2007. It is a very sharp looking vehicle, inside and out. However, GMC has failed to provide what I consider acceptable quality parts and craftsmanship. If you really love this vehicle, do some research before you commit. Don't be blinded by the styling beauty. Take heed of the criticism on the vehicle's engine, transmission, electrical components, etc. We have had our transmission replaced; the new one is failing. Running out of room so here's the failures: - Transmission - Driver Door Hinge - Left Rear Passenger Door Hinge - Rear Lift Gate - Both Read Door Lock Actuators - Cruise Control YouTube: "Acadia Headlight Replacement", then do "Battery". Good Luck!
