THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE AND I COULD NOT BE ANY MORE HAPPIER WITH IT. THE ENVOY HAS JUST ABOUT EVERY FEATURE THERE IS. THERE IS A LOT OF POWER WITH 286 HP OUT OF A V6 GREAT STEREO & WHEELS
All things considered, the Envoy Denali is an above average mid-size SUV. Towing power is on par with my previous vehicle ('01 Yukon) and is complimented with an air ride auto leveling system. Highway mileage leaves a bit to be desired but the vehicle has plenty of power with the 5.3l Vortec under the hood; passing with a trailor isn't an issue. The inerior is quite comfortable and nicely trimmed with the woodgrain accents, however; the steering wheel is the only real wood trim. The center console is a bit cramped with the parking brake lever tighly placed against the passenger seat. The cup holders also are precarious, as they are oddly placed; one is forward of the shifter (very cramped and cumbersome) and the other aft of the shifter tighly against the center console storage. The forward cup holder blocks the 2WD/4WD selector and the VERY small tray and the 12V outlet is cumbersome as well. The back seating is modestly spacious, but the overhead DVD player seems to be HUGE as it's barely able to clear the front seat head rest (it seems very far foward). From the back seat, it's placed nicely though. Rear cargo space is ample for 4 people. If utilizing the option to fold down the rear seats for more cargo is what you have in mind, be aware the rear seats, although they fold down, do not reach a completely horizontal position. They remain about 5-10 degrees above horizontal. My biggest complaint is, there are very few options to "lift" the vehicle to achieve more ground clearance. Having low placed color matched running boards, this would not be a good choice if you plan to drive in conditions worse than an old country road. It has the power, but not the clearance. If you want a mid-size SUV with good power, an excellent highway comfort factor, and modest cargo space, in a 4WD, this is your vehicle. If you plan to hit the back country trails, i.e. MOAB, it's not for you!
This SUV has everything I wanted. It's spacious, looks good and the performance is great with a really tight turning radius. The gas mileage is not so great though.
