Handles well, acceleration adequate, good mileage (20 mpg) for any SUV, but would recommend leather seats--fabric is pretty, but difficult to get in and out of. Very nice original red paint--pretty car.

I replace a 1997 GMC Jimmy with a 2007 GMC Envoy. The Jimmy was a work vehicle and I needed something of similar l type and design as well as reliability. After trying a number of the more current body frame uni-body designs that did not come up to the requirements of the Jimmy, I finely found the Envoy. This is the second or third generation of the GMC mid size SUVs. The Envoy has more room, is more comfortable, and better handling than the Jimmy. Most of the SUVs today are really more of a family type luxury cross between a station wagon and a Van. They are really not designed as a working vehicle with adequate tie downs for securing heaver boxes, instruments, tools, and ladders. The Envoy is a perfect fit. Also, it was a much better price than the similar size SUVs in the uni-body design. This was a good chose for me.

Some of the best compact SUVs today are efficient, with good power and handy features like a turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive, and even third-row seats. Check out this top 10 list, based on CarMax sales data from January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2017.
