Enough to give hope for the future of GM...

If my experience with the 2005 GMC Envoy SLT 4X4 thus far is any indication of the direction in which General Motors is progressing, I can honestly say that they'll find a repeat customer in me. I find that the GMC Envoy is VERY well equipped. The interior is inviting and well laid out with a multitude of thoughtful features and useful technology. Between the automatic headlamps, the RainSense automatic windshield wipers and all the OnStar features offered, I'm convinced that the only thing my Envoy can't do for me is steer and blow my nose. :-) Mechanically, I find that the engine and transmission are quite impressive. The I6 engine has won much praise from professional reviewers; I fully back every word of it. Admittedly, I was concerned that the transmission has only 4 speeds at its disposal unlike many SUVs in this class (such as my brother's Toyota 4Runner Limited with its 5 speed unit). However, with the smooth power delivery and wide power band of the Envoy's I6 engine, ride performance exceeded my picky standards. The drivetrain pulls devilishly hard on the highway on ramps, yet remains silently civilized in the city. Overall, I'm EXTREMELY satisfied with my decision to purchase the 2005 GMC Envoy SLT 4X4, especially in light of the tremendous bang-for-the-buck factor that comes with the Envoy's very reasonable sticker price. If you're after an SUV with the looks to carry you up to the valet desk at any upscale resort one minute and powerfully haul your jet skis to the lake and down the boat ramp the next, while doing it all with equal aplomb, your search has just ended in the GMC Envoy.

Nice Ride

I have been driving company cars for the past thirty nine years. I have always wondered what type of vehicle I would like to own when I retired. I have driven Chevys ( Impala and Celebrity),Ford ( Taurus and Taurus XL ) Plymouth ( Acclaim ) Pontiac ( Grand Prix ) Well I retired last august. I saw a car on the web at CarMax. Checked it out and bought it. It's only been a thousand miles since I bought it. But I can truly say that I love this car.

2006 GMC Envoy

I wanted a SUV and was looking at the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but my husband is 6'4'' tall and did not fit in the vehicle. We are new parents and I wanted to feel safe driving our daughter. We saw the GMC Envoy and really like the look and I was very happy to see that the cargo space is large enough for the stroller and tons of shopping which most midsize SUV's did not have. We looked at the new GMC Terrain but we opted for the 2006 envoy for cargo space, interior room and comfort. It has a good get up and go, it drives very smooth. Doesn't feel like a truck. Interior is basic but that is fine for me. Only negative is there is a lot of wind noise when driving, but I have the radio on or hear the crying of a newborn - yeah- so it knocks out the wind noise. I am very pleased with this SUV.
