Customer Review Summary for GMC Sierra 1500
2009 GMC Sierra 1500rich - Atlanta11/08/2012
4.3 v6- I think the V8 would be a better choice, especially since it has a class 3 hitch. I doubt that the gas mileage would be much different. Overall, the truck is great, once you get use to its size. Try to park it in places that are easy to get out of. Quality of the GMC seems to be much better than a Chevy, and the truck rides like a car. GMC manual is generic, for all Sierras, so you have to pick through it to find your options. So far, truck is definitely worth the money.
Not a 4WD
2012 GMC Sierra 1500Ken Watson - Arvada, CO11/13/2015
I should have done my homework better. It showed it was an AWD or Auto 4WD. It is not capable of handling sloppy roads or any type of off-road travel. You can not switch the vehicle into 4WD. If the wheels slip it will lock in all 4 wheels, but just for a short period of time. I bought the wrong truck.
My 2nd Sierra
2011 GMC Sierra 1500Mike Soski - San Diego, CA02/20/2016
I had my 1st Sierra for 10 years and it was the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. It was just time to update my ride, so after looking at other makes and models of full size trucks, I stayed with a Sierra. This new one has the 6.2 so I have PLENTY of power, it rides well and is very comfortable. Mine has a bed cover, so I really like that sleek look and lockable, waterproof bed.
