Awesome vehicle ! this is my second Pickup from Carmax, the first one was a 06 Chevy Silverado 1500 but I needed a heavier duty truck to pull my travel trailer without worrying about overloading it's towing capacity so I purchased this vehicle after looking around and finding many similar vehicles overpriced with a ton of miles on them (over 100,000 miles) I kept looking on the carmax web site and found this beauty with low miles on it (47,000) and had it transported from North Carolina to Illinois ! I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase, the truck is exactly what I was looking for and in my price range. Thank you Carmax! I especially want to Thank Service Consultant Roz Jackson & Sales Consultant Winston Bolt whom made me a life time believer in Carmax with their professional service to me at the Glencoe Store.
I've owned several tow vehicles to tow my 1998 26ft travel trailer. Some had adequate power but braking was poor. Others had weak transmissions. This truck has all the power to pull up the hills at highway speeds, and plenty of braking power to stop the 12000 pounds of GVW even on steep downhill runs. Also lots of cargo space behind front seats when I fold up the split back seats.
Love it! Has most all the accessories. The only accessory that it lacks that I would like is a back-up camera. A truck build for towing should have a back-up camara as a standard feature. After all it has back-up sencers. This truck has hugh power and great acelleration for a desiel. Wow! The best thing is it is so confortable to drive. I have recenty taken two long trips and am very please with its comfort, in the seats and the layout of controls. One of the best features is the intergrated trailer break. Again it should be a standard feature for a truck that is made for towing. An after market would be difficult to locate and be out of the way of the driver and still be accessable. The only other item of comment is the lack of storge spaces in the cab. Less than my last GM truck. I have purchased small nylon tool bags to hold hitch, jumber cables, flares and tow strap/chain and placed under back seat. It all depends on what you like to carry. Again I love it.
