Reviews for 2012 GMC Terrain
Attractive and comfortable SUV
It's a very attractive small SUV. Runs like a dream. The dashboard is advanced, telling you when maintenance is needed. It can comfortably hold four people (or five if three are children). The front seats are very comfortable. I especially like the interior detailing of the car, the red stitching is very stylish. The only drawback is that the towing capacity is only 1,500 pounds, so you are limited if you are looking to tow a boat or RV.
Pros
- Dashboard: Advanced options tell you when maintenance is needed
- Styling: Interior is gorgeous, the red stitching is very stylish.
- Ride and Handling: Very smooth, good acceleration and brake time.
Inspection oversights
I am unsure if I should blame the car or carmax, it is an older modee 201 but purchased based on specs and in the 2 months I have owned it, all the inspections points that carmax stated they inspected have failed. I have gone in for repairs already 3 times. I love the shape and structure of the car but the service is questionable to say the least....
Pros
- Cargo Space: So much room you can sleep or transport furniture
Cons
- Reliability: This is where Carmax failed
Wonderful car
I have had the car since February, so all I can tell you from this short span, is that I love it. It has speed, remote start, it looks nice on the inside comfortable in front and back. Tires are original and need replaced. I'm guessing that's the reason when it's wet I hydroplane. I cannot go over 55 when it's wet out. Has backup camera. Sirius Satellite Radio availability. My car has everything I wanted.
Pros
- Power: When you need speed the car will take off quickly
- Technology and Entertainment: Sirius Satellite Radio, hands free talking,
- Seat Comfort: Heated seats very comfortable
Cons
- Weather Versatility: Seems like I slide when it's wet out. Tires are original. May need new ones to prevent this.
- Cost to Maintain: Tires are expensive
