Awesome gas milage! I drive a lot....the money I saved in gas, made my car payment. Smart move!

The 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid is still being advertised as 40/45 mpg (which is why I bought it), but Honda updated the software which changed that rating. I get about 32 mpg now. Had I known that before purchasing this vehicle, I would have bought a Prius instead.
So far so good

I have had my car for about a month. Besides one really annoying rattle in the passenger door, which I am hoping Honda will fix under warranty, the car has been good overall.
The ride is fairly smooth for an economy car, and the road noise is limited. Consumer Reports commented on road noise, but I am not sure I see it as a problem -- at least it isn't for me.
Braking is very good.
What took some time to get used to is the brake-controlled auto-shut-off, which is a primary method for fuel economy. Simply stated, the car shuts off when you stop, assuming the air temp is a certain level and you don't have the heater on full blast. I am very used to it now, and I like the fact that I am not idling wasting gas at stop lights, stop signs, and in stop-n-go-traffice.
I love the radio and cruise controls on the steering wheel. They are very convenient. I have also really come to appreciate the two-part display for engine performance and speed. The fact is that I tend to pay very little attention to the engine performance information and much more attention to the speed limit.
Also, I think the tilt wheel, automatic climate control, and power windows/doors are really nice features for an economy car.
If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely buy the Civic Hybrid.
