Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.75 reviews) The 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid is a great commuter car. It's durable with easily-replaced parts, comes with a lot of neat features as part of the base package, and gets great gas mileage even without modifying your driving style. When I first started driving it, I averaged 41 mpg, a little under the 44 mpg the vehicle's advertised at- however, by monitoring the fuel-usage display on the dashboard as I drove, I quickly learned to modify my driving to be more efficient. I've gotten up to 56 mpg. Cautionary note: be aware that the life of the lithium-ion battery pack is only about 100,000 miles. If you have your car for longer, you'll eventually need to replace it, which will run several thousand dollars if it's not under warranty.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Gray Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.75 reviews) The 2012 Civic Hybrid is factory-rated at 41 mpg, and that's exactly what I'm getting after five months of use. Handling is much tighter than my Camry. Road noise is not bad for a subcompact. Seats are not very comfortable; driver's seat feels off level, headrests are awkwardly angled, backseat has minimal legroom. Not a lot of horsepower, but hey, it's a hybrid. Braking is excellent. Styling is nicer in newer models, but it's still a good-looking car.

Civic Hybrid

Bought a used 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid about 6 weeks ago with 12k on it. I drive 55 miles per day to work and back and sit in rush hour traffic too, so I needed something that was fuel efficient. Although rated at 44mph, I've never gotten less than that. I've gone through three fill ups in 6 weeks and the mileage I got was 51, 47 and 48, so surprising there. I do drive it as optimally as I can and use the eco mode, so that helps, but I've been very pleased. It's comfortable and the eye level visual dash is really nice. Hands free bluetooth cell use is awesome. Face it, it's not a sports car or an SUV, but it's got enough kick for the city easily. If you're looking for fuel economy with some nice technological features to go with it then it's a great option.
