For basic transportation this generation of Civic is intrinsically fun to drive. The handling is spirited and acceleration is lively, especially with the manual transmission. Visibility is somewhat compromised with the coupe; it has thick A-pillars that obstruct some angles while making turns and small rear windows. The base sound system is more than adequate and the control layout of the dash is very easy to use. Compared to other coupes of this price range the Civic has a more usable back seat, especially with head room. Civics are rather noisy (wind and tire noise) but you can't have everything. With safety, frugality, style, and fun, this little Civic is a good first car for any kid.
I bought the car for a specific reason and that is economy. Recently on my way from Fl to Ky I got 40 mpg. If you want sizzling acceleration or a lot of power then don't consider this car. It carries four people with no problem. In mountainous terrain it shifts down to maintain speed but I expected that. It's a great car.
I could only choose from 3 pros, but I could think of many more. I love the style of this car, both interior and exterior- it's sporty without the high price. It has a sunroof, and great looking default rims. I drive a lot on this car so the mileage has increased faster than it would have normally, but the car is still running fine without any problem. Gas mileage is great, comes in handy with me having to drive long distances. There isn't anything I can think of that I dislike about the Honda Civic.
