The car is fun to drive. The gas mileage for city driving isn't as great as sticker indicated (17 mpg instead of 22). I don't know about highway mileage yet. The backseat has good leg room and the cargo compartment is bigger than expected. It has plenty of pick-up for a 4-cylinder. I traded in a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee for this one, and it has comparable comfort and roominess (except I miss the direction display and the fact that on the Jeep the windows could be rolled for 30 secs after the key was turned off). I like the fact that the CR-V has extra room on the front floor because of the transmission being on the dashboard. It seems to be a great car overall; not luxurious, but comfortable; and its great safety rating is definitely a plus (all those air bags). I've only owned the car for 2 months and I'll get fonder of it as months go by without problems, hopefully.
I bought my CR-V while I was pregnant. I had a small car, and knew I would need more room for lugging baby equipment. I fell in love with my CR-V the first trip to Grandma's house. Plenty of cargo room. You get a lot of vehicle for the price. Maintenance is reasonable. Great gas mileage for a SUV. Radio controls on the steering wheel make long trips more bearable. No latch system for the rear, center seat (which is the safest place for a car seat). I had to use the seat belt. The passenger side dashboard storage area has a slip resistant coating which makes it great for cell phone, pda, extra sunglasses, and other things that would normally slide onto the floor with every turn - great feature! The center console between the front seats, however, does not have a coating, and everything slides off it. Come on, Honda! Where's the logic? There are 3 cup holders in the front seat. I love the extra cupholder! I put my cell phone in the extra cup holder because it slides off the center console (no anti-slip coating). But there are no cupholders in the back seat! Again, Honda, what were you thinking? The CR-V is a good car overall, but they need a woman on the design team.
We absolutely love this vehicle. Tons of room, even with tall adult legs in the back. Handles great, nice, tight, and very responsive. Runs nice and quiet, has a great sound system and we are in love with the seat warmers! Lots of nice cubby holes to store items, and reclinable rear seats are great. Great acceleration power for me, as I love to be able to sneak in and out of spots. We're looking forward to enjoying this Honda CRV for many years to come. Would recommend this Honda to anyone who wants a great car with plenty of room , power, great mileage, and sharp looks!
