I've always driven small, nimble, fairly spartan 5 speeds, but wanted a change. The CRV certainly is a change for me. It feels like a big, strong steel box. The only "luxuries" are the heated leather seats. The CRV has a spartan luxury to it. Big, surefooted, quiet and comfortable. Seats are outstanding, and the higher seating position is a nice change. Even with current $2/gal. gas the mileage is uncomfortable. The computer calculated mpg is always about 2 mpg richer than my actual miles driven divided by gallons needed to refill result. Oddly, my left foot has adjusted effortlessly to being out of work with the automatic transmission. The cargo capacity is fairly amazing. Steering is quite good. It's a nice car and I'm happy with it.
It's a size-conscious SUV. Good-sized cargo area with enough room for small furniture, passenger areas are compact without feeling cramped. Driver's seat has easy access to all controls.
One strange thing about my car is that the mileage has been dropping like a rock since I got it. I make a lot of trips on the same 180-mile stretch of highway. When I first got the car I was averaging 30-32 MPG on that route, now I'm getting about 22 MPG 5 months later. No idea what's causing it.
Some idiosyncrasies, but great car for the price!

Great car overall. It hauls a lot of cargo and passengers comfortably, and is ergonomically designed. It also has a solid sound system and the MPG isn't bad for its class. Biggest complaints are poor visibility, rough ride, and slow acceleration. But it is after all a Honda, not a Cadillac. So it's designed to be an inexpensive, reliable, and pleasant car to drive. And that is a job that it does exceedingly well.
So you’re considering a Honda Accord as your next car. It’s a good choice—the Accord is very highly-regarded in any of its available variants. Plus, it combines good gas mileage with lively performance and plenty of interior space. For those who enjoy the experience of driving, Accords are known for their firm ride, good handling, and responsive steering.
