I was paging through an auto magazine on a whim and stumbled upon the Fit. I went to the dealer that day and fell in love with it. The Fit is a car that does not look like much at first, but it is a car full of delightful surprises. For example, the Fits exterior size is deceiving. Honda somehow managed to squeeze an incredible amount of space inside. With the two magic seats in the back folded down it is possible to put almost anything in. I was able to painlessly haul my bicycle one day and a pile of old electronics including an ancient CRT monitor and stereo to the recycling drop off the next. The fit has room for humans, too. My fat friends were worried when I offered to drive on our night out, but they were all happily comfortable when we drove to the sub sandwich place. With all the molded plastic and basic fabric, the interior of the Fit will never be mistaken for that of a Jaguar or Lexus. However, the Spartan accommodations look fine and are comfortable to inhabit. The console uses giant knobs that look like they came off toys but work well, and the 6 speaker stereo system produces a crisp sound experience. The actual driving experience itself was another pleasant surprise. The Fits 4- cylinder engine does not produce Lamborgini like acceleration, though it is more than adequate for everyday driving. I found the Fit to be extremely nimble as well. On the sub-run mentioned above I missed a turn and was able to swing around and make it without any trouble. The braking was also better than I had expected. But the icing on the cake is the fuel efficiency. This car is rated 33/37, but I have been easily been able to average 40+ MPG everyday during my commute through the suburbs. The only real fault I can find with this car is its lack of a sixth gear. It is not an issue when going about town, but at higher speeds the RPMs keep climbing as the engine goes rrrrrrr. Another gear would have taken care of this, though its not too big of a deal unless one intends to frequent a high speed expressway. The Fit does not provide breakneck speed, exquisite luxury, or loads of extra features. On the other hand, it does have a great deal of one thing: Practicality. It is a no frills machine for moving people and stuff in a fun, comfortable manner. And that is why it is my favorite car.

Great little Car

I have a 2009 Fit Sport Model. It is my second Fit. It is a great car and the paddle shift really helps when you are passing or getting on an on ramp. I was also surprised at how well it handled. The other strange thing about the car is it looks really big when you are in it, but, when you come back to it at a parking lot it looks really small. It is very open and airy. It also has a lot of headroom. It has a very large amount of usable cargo space. It has been extrremely reliable. We really like this car.

The Awesome Honda Fit!

My fit is fun to drive and I am spending half the amount of money in gas. In an emergency it will stop on a dime! It has almost as much room inside as my Jeep Liberty did, so I can tote children in car seats, stroller, beach paraphernalia, or tons of groceries. I like how the back seats fold down flat for hauling large & long items. The seats are comfortable, and there is plenty of head room. The backseat have a good amount of space for adult riders. It has a difficult time gaining speed going up hills, but I have found that on Hwy/fwy driving if I get the Fit up over 70 MPH that zoom capability kicks in. Also I like that, due to the size and length of the Fit, I can squeeze into a parking spots.
